Rocko Mortis vs Hans Auslander: "Give Me Your Gear" - WatchFighters
Full disclosure: this match was a custom request sponsored by yours truly, which is why I've been able to make GIFs.
Rocko Mortis is a new face in the underground wrestling scene. His debut pitted him against fellow newbie multxverse in this mid-April release. Since then he's gone on to face a few recognizable faces like Drake Marcos (he's back!), Forrest Taylor, and Kayden Keller, just to name a few. Those encounters aren't the focus of this review, though I encourage you to check those matches out if you are able to. All of his matches are available through his page on the Watchfighters platform.
The match I want to focus on is one of his latest releases featuring beefcake Hans Auslander, who I am a big fan of. When I initially requested this match I didn't specify any opponents, so when Rocko told me he reached out to Hans and asked him to film this, I was incredibly excited.
It takes some gusto to challenge someone like Hans to a wrestling match, especially when you're putting some effort into establishing yourself as a jobber (Rocko refers to himself as a jobber in three of his video titles so far). But make no mistake, the man can tussle.
Putting the squeeze on Hans |
The aim is to get the other man out of their gear: singlets first, then the Speedos underneath. If you're like me, seeing these two get stripped sounds like a fantastic time. Hans and Rocko spend no time ogling like I would've done and immediately get to rumbling around the famous New York mat room that has played host to many amazing matches over the years.
Like something out of a horror movie |
Hans and Rocko make use of the space, rolling around and throwing each other from one end of the room to the other. Two static cameras capture the action well. The unmoving angles make the room feel smaller and more enclosed than a mobile camera, which can only be a benefit when you have two hairy hunks fighting to strip each other down.
There are no rules here. Cheap shots are fair game, and there are plenty of them to admire here. While this isn't a ball busting match, fans of those are sure to find plenty to enjoy about this. It doesn't take long for Hans to realise that trying to fight fairly against the tenacious Rocko isn't going to cut it. Watching him take on a more sadistic side in this match was a treat. Fortunately for us, Rocko matches him, so watching Hans suffer treats us viewers doubly.
Rocko making great use of his knees |
As the singlets are shed over halfway into the match so too are their inhibitions. The action really heats up, with Rocko and Hans battling even more fiercely than before. The variety of moves on display only serves to amplify the growing animosity between these two. Each Boston crab, headscissors, nut shot, and dragon sleeper (a couple of the latter really got me going) just adds fuel to the fire.
I wouldn't mind swapping places with either of these two |
The back-and-forth action is non-stop. Hans and Rocko don't let up. They take pleasure in beating each other up and we, as viewers, can only bask in the sight. As the sweat starts to reflect the room's light and the pain becomes more audible, things only get more intense. You can start sensing a desperation in their agonized groans and the moves that caused them. Each attack starts to feel personal, like they've just pissed each other off.
Who gives first? |
All of this action culminates in a thrilling finish that left at least one of these hunks gasping for breath, out on the mat. If you want to see how I wanted this match to end, you should definitely check it out for yourself. I thoroughly enjoyed this match, and arranging it with Rocko was a joy. He was responsive to any questions I had, cared about the details, and was a delight to chat to. I've already ordered another custom from him, and it's set to be a scorcher.
Rocko Mortis vs Hans Auslander - "Give Me Your Gear" has a runtime of 29:10 and can be found here. WrestleBard over at Sidelineland also posted a review of Rocko's match vs Drake Marcos, which you can read here.
As a side note: I said this in my review of my review of Hans Auslander vs Matt Larsen, but I will reiterate the importance of supporting your favorite independent wrestling creators now more than ever. OnlyFans and Gumroad have actively been suspending the accounts of creators and studios alike, so sites like Watchfighters are inevitably going to become more important.
