Featured Move: Camel Clutch

The camel clutch, in my eyes, seems like one of the most painful wrestling holds to endure besides the dirty cheap shot. Combined with the pain of stretching out someone's back, neck, and shoulders, it completely immobilizes them.

The invention of the camel clutch is often accredited to the famed Mexican wrestler Gory Guerrero for his use of a visually similar move La de a Caballo (roughly translating to "the horse-mounting choke"). The move was later popularized by American wrestler Ed Farhat (The Sheik), with the name "camel clutch" originating from his gimmick as a Syrian "wild man". Peculiar ring personas aside, the camel clutch remains one of the most brutal displays of domination in wrestling today. Not to be reductive, but it's also very hot.
