Bad Camera Man - UK Wrestling Hub
UK Wrestling Hub's "Bad Camera Man" is one of the most unique set ups for a match that I've seen in a long while. I've wanted Blake, Rich King, and T World in the ring together for quite some time now, but the way the third gets involved was not something I expected to see. At least one of these three appears in 6 of the last 7 UKWH productions, and I can't blame them. As I'm sure other reviewers have pointed out, UKWH have struck gold with Blake and Rich King.
Labelled as a custom match, this is another item in the growing collection of UKWH customs. I have no empirical evidence for this, but I like to think that the number of customs a studio produces stands as a good sign of their success and quality.
The match features Blake as the titular cameraman filming a match between Rich King and T World. The latter two have no love lost for each other after their previous bruising title fight. As the name suggests, Blake's camerawork is, for lack of a better word, shit. He coughs, commentates, films the worst angles, and gets in the way—everything a cameraman shouldn't do. But don't fret! The real cameraman also captures the action so us viewers don't miss out. This leads to some very interesting and meta shots as the match unfolds. I'm sure the editor had a blast with this one.
An interesting way to watch T World's nuts get smashed |
T World and Rich King become increasingly aggravated towards Blake, and rightfully so. They're putting on a fantastic show and Blake continually interrupts them, ruining the flow of the match. But make no mistake, despite Blake's dodgy camerawork the fight between Rich King and T World is phenomenal and brutal. Slams, sweat, and pain highlight just how excellent these two are as opponents. Blake's filming is honestly atrocious, so what comes next is very satisfying to watch.
It doesn't take long for the match to turn on its head. Rich King and T World, about a third of the way through, turn their aggression towards Blake. The man gets stripped and beaten within an inch of his life. At one point he even gets choked out with his own jeans!
Double scissors are the least of Blake's issues |
Blake doesn't go down without a fight, albeit a futile one. He desperately tries to scramble and beat the other two away as they choke him out or destroy his nuts, but to no avail. He quite literally is tossed around the ring like a ragdoll at times—it's quite the spectacle. If you're a fan of lopsided two-on-one matches, this will certainly exceed your expectations.
After Blake gets knocked out the first time Rich King and T World decide to take turns throwing their former cameraman around the ring. Although they're both already sweating buckets, they don't let up. Blake takes an onslaught of slams, chokes, and bearhugs as he desperately scrambles to get away, but the ruthlessness of his opponents knows no bounds. They would make a fabulous tag team should they ever decide to team up in a more official capacity.
Blake about to get slammed into the canvas for the umpteenth time |
After a stunning double backbreaker leads to Blake's unconsciousness for the second time, Rich King and T World turn their attentions back to each other. They still have a score to settle, and no jobber could get in the way of them settling their feud. It's another sweat-filled, hate-fuelled, back-and-forth brawl.
They go at it, full pelt, until the unexpected happens. Blake wakes up from his second slumber and takes them both on once more. T World and Rich King have been sweating for the best part of 25 minutes by this point, and their battle against each other has clearly taken its toll. But is their exhaustion enough of an advantage for Blake to exact his revenge? As the match's official description reads, his wrestling skills are far superior to his camerawork. What follows is a thrilling ending that you really need to see.
Blake gets some of his own back |
The match doesn't let up for a second. It's exciting, high energy action from the jump, and for that I am grateful. UKWH has released another corker in the series of matches featuring these three, and I eagerly await whatever else they have in store because it's guaranteed entertainment.
#143 Legacy Match; Bad Camera Man has a runtime of 32:28 (with some advertizements of their other products at the end) and can be found on UKWH's site here. It may also be found on their WatchFighters channel here.
