3 Way Chain Match - UK Wrestling Hub

My first review!

If you read my previous post about custom matches then you may already be aware of my fondness for this video.

"Bit awkward, innit"

Labeled as a "Legacy Match" by UK Wrestling Hub, this video was produced at the request of a fan. Everyone's tastes are different when it comes to wrestling, so my interests were piqued when seeing three big men bound to each other by chains. It wouldn't even come to mind if you asked me what kind of matches I want to see. The uniqueness of the concept and the wrestlers involved were enough to sell the video to me before watching the trailer, however.

The match features the Bo Bearly, Grizzly Jim, and Leon Cyrus in a free-for-all tangle. No championship belts or titles are on the line for this battle, only pride. In many free-for-all matches I've seen there's always someone who just sits back and lets the other two do their thing. The chains in this bout do a good job of keeping everyone close to the action. They're often used as weapons, too.

The match is full of great twists and turns. There are plenty of two-on-one moments with each combination of guys. UK Wrestling Hub does a great job of using the chains and number of guys in really creative ways. One particular highlight is a Boston crab/camel clutch combo. The chains compound the trapped feeling you get from that hold, and many others, firmly establishing the unique esthetic of this bout.

The Bearly Bros seemingly have no issues making enemies of each other here, so if you were afraid of a strange two-on-one, don't fret. It's all in good fun anyway, right?

By far my favorite parts of the match are when all three guys go at in a free-for-all. There's something captivating about someone not knowing where to look. Where is that next attack coming from? Who do I need to be worried about? What am I going to do with these chains? It poses a striking set of quandaries (pardon the pun).

There are bearhugs, spladles, ball busting, a train of chokes, tangles, and a stunning triple headscissors that really set the match tone. The guys do a great job of selling the match while also looking like they're enjoying themselves, something I consider to be a rare talent these days.

Triple headscissors!

As the match is described on UKWH's website, it truly is a close one to call. Each of the heavyweights really holds their own and it's back-and-forth from the start. If you're a fan of chains, chokes, and chaos, this is the match for you.

#110 Legacy: 3 Way Chain match has a runtime of 29:17. It can be found on UK Wrestling Hub's official website and Watchfighters page.
