The Best of 2024

As another year ends, another time to reflect begins.

2024 was truly something. 

With regard to this blog's statistics, it's been viewed almost 18,000 times just in 2024. That's honestly bonkers to think about. In that time the most popular post and Featured Move was Crotch-to-Face Pins (2), with the second most popular post (and most popular match review) being Rocko Mortis vs Hans Auslander's strip match. Two fine posts, if I do say so myself.

Focusing just on underground wrestling, it has been fantastic. There were so many amazing matches released this year that I want to talk about, probably too many. Maybe next year I'll do some kind of awards thing that a bunch of other people have been doing—those always seem like great fun. Without further ado, here are my five favorite matches released in 2024 (in no particular order)! As I did last year, I'm limiting myself to one match per studio/creator.

Bo Bearly vs Grizzly Jim (Bear Battle) — UK Wrestling Hub

Released in the middle of June, this UK Wrestling Hub match is a WatchFighters exclusive, meaning it won't be found on their website. It features the Bearly Bros in an all-out brawl for supremacy. These two have an extensive history, so every hit felt personal and was delivered with a level of grit that gets me fired up. I tend to shy away from pro matches because I prefer the intimacy and rawness of a mat battle, but I can make a special exception for UKWH ring battles. This is a highly entertaining bout full of twists, brutal hits, and charm unique to the Bearly Bros that I love.

Three-Way Brawl — Rocko Mortis, KC Ryder, Nero the Beast (via WatchFighters)

Me, talking about this match again? For a moment, please pretend you didn't expect it and just enjoy the ride with me. Three hot guys all beating the shit out of each other, but they're also horny and incredibly sweaty? Yes please, thank you very much.

This was actually a custom match that I'd ordered from Rocko back in July and it was released a few weeks later in August. It's one of my top five this year for good reason, it quite literally has almost everything I'd want in a match because I specifically requested it. There's often some tentativeness when recording something as chaotic as a three-way fight, but I saw none of that here. If you have tastes like mine (and I know many of you do), then this match is right up your alley.

3-Way Men's Catball Foot Fight — Doom Maidens Wrestling

Doom Maidens is a studio that isn't talked about often in the gay world. This is because the vast majority of their matches feature women on women. They do, however, have a small selection of male on male videos that are absolute treasures. One of their matches released last year is actually one of my favorite matches ever (you can read about it here). This catfight has three guys (Diablo, Frankie, and Nikolai) getting all tangled up, rolling around the famous New York mat room. It's a short (15-minutes) but sweaty affair, full of all the heat you'd expect from a catfight. Despite the intensity it's a fun and light-hearted romp between friends, something we could all use a bit more of in the coming year. As the title suggests there is also plenty of focus on feet, so if that's something you're into then you will love this match.

BadAsses! Fightroom II, episode 2 — Wrestlingmale

This early-November release pits superstar (and gloriously hairy) Aryx Quinn against Wrestlingmale-exclusive French bodybuilder Foxx Denfert. These two have been on Wrestlingmale's roster for a number of years but this is only their first meeting. Aryx and Foxx have undeniable chemistry, both sexually and in terms of wrestling. They also just look really fucking hot together, especially when they're rolling around and smothering each other with their cheeks.

These two are well-matched, battling it out in this thrilling unscripted battle for almost an hour with a palpable erotic undercurrent throughout. If you like face sitting, headscissors, and smothers then you should definitely check this one out.

Hans vs Matt Larsen: First to Cum — Hans Auslander, Matt Larsen (via WatchFighters)

This incredible, sensual romp between beefcake Hans Auslander and hunky Matt Larsen made my list the moment it was released on WatchFighters at the beginning of June. I feel like first-to-cum-loses matches are in the middle of a resurgence of late—they keep popping up wherever I look (not complaining, of course). The match is deliberately slow which makes the stakes that much higher. Each submission grants the winner some freedom to get their opponent off, and if I were in the place of either of these two then I would be in serious peril.

Very very close to pipping this match on the list were Hans' first to cum match against Denzel Dixon and Matt Larsen's sweaty rematch against Bobby Ben Carter, both excellent videos.
